The observations of pressure readings changing on the EV upwards and downwards when the pump is running is interesting. I have noticed this on some systems but not on others. I wonder if the venturi effect has anything to do with this (ie plumbing technique would have a large bearing on it.)

Isn't this because the pressure round the system varies just like the voltage round a battery circuit where the battery is the pump and the pipe work coils etc the resistance and the EV is a reference point in the system (like an earth reference but at 1 bar or whatever). Therefore if the EV is before the pump the pressure round the system will reference to that and the pressure after the pump will show a rise when running maintaing 1 bar before the pump. With the EV after the pump the reference is after the pump and therefore a gauge before the pump will show a fall in pressure when running because the 1 bar is maintained after the pump.

Oh that was very garbled perhaps the picture will be more explanatory.

Hence the best position for the EV is just before the pump as the lowest pressure point in the system.

Hi

Thanks everyone for your advice.  It seems that everyone has different ideas, perhaps before the government decides every new property should have solar panels, there should be a decision on what way works best then we could all work to a set pattern and any problems that come up could then be resolved as one?

How about it guys a Navitron investigation into the best and worst and then a system everyone could follow easily and effectively.
