i have to laugh at the pickle jeremy has got himself into,
i mean,,even david cameron has given him a wide berth this time. for ages now we have watched jeremy spout all kinds of anti-enviromental jokes and indulge the boy racers with views of the unobtainable toys.
i know and everyone else knows that he did not mean a word of it,that is shooting strikers in front of their families,,he probely thought it was so outragious that it should also be funny,,but boy,, did he get that wrong.
i think we are now meant to forgive and push him back outside to play with his toys, but this time might be different, this time the mouth got so far ahead of the brain that it might take major surgery to get it lined up again.we will just have to wait and see,i am sure hammond will have tears in his eyes from laughing,,wow!!

I actually quite enjoy Top Gear, and have long accepted that a lot of stuff spouted by Clarkson is all bluster, bravado and bullsh*t designed to feed his laddish image (from which he has got incredibly rich) - I heard his outbursts last night, and agree with Biff - just way out of line, and incredibly ill-judged (had a drink perhaps been taken?) - either that or he may be getting a misplaced superiority complex - or perhaps he's just trying to boost flagging viewing figures...... whichever it was, he deserves a good slap!

Gotta love the man.

He does have a way with words. As said above, it is what has made him a very rich man.

Every time the Guardianistas say "He's gone too far and he's finished", seems to have survived every other out burst of false offence well enough, cant see why he wont survive this one.

Of course he'll survive, the BBC can't afford to lose him - Top Gear is sold all round the world, and makes them gazillions..........

Unfortunately many blokes tend to think like Jeremy, and say so especially in their work place.

Comments made to my Mrs, by Senior managers in a Global company, who should no better.
"What is it with women that they need a MBA".
That Beautiful Italian girl, "she can have MY babies anytime".
"All women are high maintenance".

The list is endless for these strutting, swearing, blaspheming, bulling up, blagging, lying nasty pieces of work that think Jeremy Clarkson is god.

Do not worry my dear string/forum readers, I know who these men are, and it will not be long until they are castrated, metaphorically and possibly physically.

Well I wasn't impressed with this, Jeremy going too far this time (and I'm a big, big TG fan).

But then I watched the main news at 6pm and everything changed. Clip of him at an airport saying, it's been taken out of context see the whole clip.

Next they show the full clip. he's asked what he thinks of the strike and jokes that he loves it, London is really quiet for a change, easy to get around, nobody in the way. I think he even says they should do it all the time.

Next he looks at Matt and Alex, and cheekily says, still I suppose we have to report both sides too, be impartial, this being the BBC, so (looks cheekily at them again) we should shoot them all, ........ etc.

Looks like a little jiggery pokery in the reporting.

If you get the chance watch the BBC news at 10pm, they may replay it.

Agree with him or not , we fought wars for free speech . If you don't want to see Jeremy Clarkson exercising his right then turn over to another of the zillion channels of mind numbing rubbish.
He was appearing on an entertainment show not the BBC news.
Get a life and move on.
No offence intended.

Over paid MUPPET! In fact the BBC is just a total joke and it's about time we ditched the TV tax.

OH Jeremy is off to China, no doubt on a very important mission and He is sure to off set his carbon emissions!

Just think? If every household spent the TV tax fee over 10 years on insulation or the like!!!!!! fume

Just watch American TV for a while before deciding that the BBC is a bad idea. _Advertisers_ have editorial control of the news over there. You don't get that on the Beeb, and it's pretty important that you can do a proper report about hormones in cows without getting it squelched and losing your job: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZkDikRLQrw (quite scary stuff).

Yeah, no-one likes paying the money, but really the alternatives are a lot worse.

I wholeheartedly agree with all of that, BUT the BBC is pretty rotten in many ways - nowadays hopelessly biased in what news they show (look what happened to Orla Guerin, who was given the equivalent of a "posting to the outer darkness" for daring to produce reports that were critical of Israel), and a great many of the better reporters are now to be found with the likes of Al Jazeera (who arguably have been far less biased than the present BBC - let's hope recent changes at the top there maintain their excellent standards).....
I used to be a fan of local radio (in this area, Radio Sussex), but following a night of the long knives a few years ago, (during which all the articulate and interesting presenters were removed, and replaced with glottal-stopping morons with not a brain cell between them), their programming continues to plumb new depths - they happily allow the Sun's "gardener" (Steve Bradley) to give advice on a Sunday morning, liberally interspersed with blatant advertising for pesticide company products (named and spelled out), and refuse to curb his driving a cart and horses through all the "no advertising" rulings....
There is still a great deal wrong, and in my view they should start by booting out the eejit Mark Thompson (at who's desk the buck stops), who in return for around £800k a year has presided over a disastrous slide in standards....
I have no problem with paying a licence fee to keep a "free" broadcast service, but it must offer value for money, news reporting must be unbiased, and there must be no advertising at all - that's why we pay for it! (And on a personal point, anyone hiring the odious and unfunny "Woss" for ludicrous sums should be drummed out of broadcasting, never to return.....) [/pause rant]
