That would explain this weather alert from the Met office for Mon evening and Tuesday :
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/se/se_forecast_warnings.html

Although those charts seem to apply the strongest winds will be further North than S. England

Inverness got off lightly last week it appears - a few trees down across the Highlands but mainly in the west. Our Panels seem as attached as before - and the in Laws managed to get theirs on their new build down the road on Tuesday (although defrosting using "novel" blow torch methods was required...)

FOr scary looking illustrations of the forecast wind for Mon/Tues coming - I found this site.
http://www.xcweather.co.uk/GB/forecast

Again - the value of being protected from a SouthWesterly by a bloomin great mountain range looks to be evidenced for Inverness and the Moray Firth.

Thursday Night looks spectacular for Donegal....... Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Good luck to those in the West - and especially Ireland - tie yourselves (and everything else) down  Shocked

Whilst watching 7pm news tonight, weather girl commented about storms hitting the whole of the UK and the wind started howling surrender

and still going strong in the midlands.

Reminder to oneself, stopping watching the evening news especially the weather forcast, shame really as nice eye candy whistlie

No snow here but wind strong enough to blow rain onto the backs of the panels!

Which, amazingly enough, are still standing.
