I have a peep here now and then

http://www.ecotricity.co.uk/our-green-energy/energy-independence/uk-grid-live

as I type they quote 600g/kWhr and the indicator light is orange, earlier they quoted 570g/kWhr and the indicator was red, earlier still it was about 580g/kWhr and green?

Is this just a bit of advertising hyperbole, am I missing something, or is there a rational explanation??

For those of you that like numbers that is Wink.................................sorry

hi,

I think the page has problems, the numbers are usually in the boxes beside the units, there also appear to be other misalignments of content on the page

here is an alternative, most interesting bit is half way down page - www.earth.org.uk/_gridCarbonIntensityGB.html

Thanks for that A.L.

as I type the Ecotricity site is quoting 597g/kWh and the Earth Notes548g/kWh, a bit less than 10% between them so not too far out. It would be interesting to know how the indicator thresholds work, thats the bit that seemed dodgy to me.

They may be using different refresh times or different data or assumptions.

These numbers are only an estimation.
