I've just added my December 2011 generation figures to http://bdpv.com/. Now 3 systems - new one 'up north' (Lytham St.Annes) so will be interesting to compare to near Cambridge (December 2011 was fairly useless up there). Half the point of BDPV is the ability to easily compare 'like for like' with others, and spot if you are 'under-performing'. So the more people on there, the better - more chance of another system near yours with the same weather. We're well provided-for near Cambridge with a good cluster of systems - same can't be said of Lytham St.Annes (yet). So do register and add your monthly data - no matter what other systems you might use as well.

Happy New Year 2012 to everyone on the forum!

Whilst I've managed to create an account with pvoutput.org was simple enough, I found creating one on bdpv.com rather confusing.
I'm not sure if there's a long time delay between creating an account and the site sending an automated sign-up email, but nothing has been received (have checked junk folder), yet the system indicates an account has been made and a message sent. On both the original sign-up, and the second attempt, the following message text was displayed:

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No space left on device in /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/KeyCache/DiskKeyCache.php on line 271

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Swift_IoException' with message 'Failed to create cache directory /tmp/4f00553323d87' in /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/KeyCache/DiskKeyCache.php:273 Stack trace: #0 /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/KeyCache/DiskKeyCache.php(85): Swift_KeyCache_DiskKeyCache->_prepareCache('4f00553323d87') #1 /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/Mime/SimpleMimeEntity.php(453): Swift_KeyCache_DiskKeyCache->setString('4f00553323d87', 'body', '??Welcome on BD...', 1) #2 /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/Mime/SimpleMessage.php(535): Swift_Mime_SimpleMimeEntity->toString() #3 /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/Transport/MailTransport.php(142): Swift_Mime_SimpleMessage->toString() #4 /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/Mailer.php(77): Swift_Transport_MailTransport->send(Object(Swift_Message), Array) #5 /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_util_src.php(257): Swift_Mailer in /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/KeyCache/DiskKeyCache.php on line 273

Hmmm. I suspect something must be broken on the site - maybe indeed "No space left on device" as in the error message. I've emailed David Trebosc (admin of BDPV, and user 'bdpv' on this forum) to say you seem to be getting an error. I saw "No space left on device" on some pages this morning when adding my December numbers, but it didn't seem to be causing me any problems (of course, I wasn't trying to create an account). Hopefully David will post here (or reply to me).

I tried to make direct contact via their website form today. Having eventually managed to work out how to use the French version of Captcha (ie type the words in quote marks), I got yet another error message.
It sounds does sound a bit like they're having server problems:

Code Captcha OK

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No space left on device in /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/KeyCache/DiskKeyCache.php on line 271

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Swift_IoException' with message 'Failed to create cache directory /tmp/4f02e6a43096d' in /srv/d_gMACODA/www/bdpv.fr/htdocs/_swift/lib/classes/Swift/KeyCache/DiskKeyCache.php:273

yep that's 'disk full' so it can't save your message to a file in order to turn it into a mail and send it.

I've mailed David to tell him, in case he hadn't noticed yet.

Just a small mesage to say that I just come back from holidays (15 days ...)
Disk full error message is solved.

More than 2 hundred mails in mailbox .... so be patient.

Sorry about this delay

When I signed up the StBC system the only problem was that my panels were not listed so had to be added by BDPV. Even so it only took a few hours. I would like to encourage more people to join particularly in the NE of England. The nearest system is 68km away so not ideal.

We have quite a nice cluster around Malvern (mostly because I enter three systems  Wink )
It really gives a simple convenient comparison that would highlight any failings.
The more who join the better it works.
