Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to program the "Aurora 3600W" GTI to limit the output to say 2500W?

I am looking at grid tying my 6hp Lister CS.
Max. generation from Lister is approx. 3kW, but want to run at approx. 2 / 2.5kW. (less stress and better fuel economy)

I know that the Windy Boys can be programmed in this way, but can not find this info for the Aurora.
I think I would prefer the Aurora, as it has a much wider input V band (50V/600V), compared to the Windy Boy. (Min. = 200V??)
This means I could run the Lister at a lower rpm.

Hi
i would talk to power one  before you change the settings
they will forword the info to advise you of the liabilities
i would order the inverter with the required factory settings you need/ with compliance cert
and adjust the power curve settings in the normal menu /

the wind version - yes, definately. The solar - no - but you wouldnt want the solar version.

the wind version you can set a graph of power out to voltage (or frequency). its what i use.

Guy,

Are you pleased with the Aurora?
In your opinion is this the right choice for the Lister, or would you recommend a different one?

Its the only one I have experience with - but it seems to do the job, and appears to be well recieved around the world.

hi
the aurora is a nice inverter
just a thought
the wind inverter is designed for the general  wind turbine fluctuation voltage and power h/z
i am not sure how the micro processors will respond to a stable voltage for long periods
i have seen in the past  processers and sensors pick up   fault status , after a time stable,
set in the programme, as safe run

it would  intresting to see if the solar mppt tracker could be adopted for our application
could call technical support and ask
sma do a grid tie inverter designed for hydro which would be more suitable if its in the range you need

Mine has been running on a waterwheel - which you cant get much more stable - for a couple of years so far. I dont see why it wouldnt like a stable power - what if you installed one somewhere where the wind was constant (antarctic for example)?
