i write about our hearing and how important it is to make sure we know exactly how good or how bad it is.some of might suspect that we only have a slight impediment only to learn that we have less than 50 percent in either ear.
i believe that there is no other business that fosters scammers like the hearing business, very often we will see an add on telly with the voice over deliberatly syncted out of kilter which makes the natural lip readers job impossible.dirty tricks like that are slowly but surely disappearing.(its illegal).then you find that the free hearing aid they were going to give you is no longer available.
the quality and performance of your new hearing aid depends on the quality of your technitian and how much intrest he takes in his job. some hearing aid manafacturers insist that their outlet specalise in their brand only and that might not be exactly what you need,
a good hearing aid without the fancy frills and blather should still be available for well under a grand.if you do music and tune pianos it is all important that you can hear the difference in each of the 3 strings per note and leave that slight irregularity in the middle string which gives the notes their timber and charm. if you play independant left hand on the accordian and choird with the main keyboard then search for the hearing aid which will open up the whole spectrum to your brain.
i normally get a new hearing aid every 2 years and leave the most recent one in to be reconditioned on the guarantee,i normally pay around 800euros and i am generally well pleased with the results. the most recent aid was bought from a well known high street spectacle shop. it was supposed to be the best i ever had but its volume was not adjustable and it filtered too much sound.however it is an exellent music hearing aid and opens up a lot of windows, makes a lot of different moves possible.i have less than 15 percent in one ear and nil in the other, the results of operations gone wrong.
make no mistake,,,,,,being stupid and being deaf are classed as one,not that it matters to me but we miss so much and their is great scope for serious misunderstandings.it is no big deal that i was expelled from college and got the rest of my education shouting over the noise of the mixer on a building site.i was not designed to live indoors anyhow,i needed the outdoor badly.
so i ask you to make this new year resolution and search out a good honest hearing aid technition, one you can trust and will stand over his 2 year guarantees. this could change your life for the better.our hearing is very special and there is so much we can learn about it,,to improve it. it affects everything we do and those we love the most.
                    happy new year folks,

make no mistake,,,,,,being stupid and being deaf are classed as one,

You'd love wifey then, as such beliefs pi55 her off royally!

Probably 15 years or so ago she decided to study stage 1 sign language, she's not sure why, she just wanted too.

About 5 years ago she studied stage 2, then stage 3 (very hard, involving video taped submissions etc, stage 4 is full interpretor).

She then volunteered as a kind of carer / taxi driver to take a local girl to a deaf youth club in Newport (about 10 miles away) each week. The volunteer staff had no sign language skills, so loved having her there.

She now does volunteering for the club, plus about 1 weekend per month (fri, sat and sun) volunteering at RNID or NDCS events around the country.

She absolutely loves it, and the staff, kids and other volunteers are brilliant. Recently answered the phone to be asked if wifey was available for an NDCS event in Scotland that weekend (they were desperate for volunteers), had to disappoint them as she had driven off only 5 mins earlier for a similar 3 day event in Carmarthen (about 80 miles away).

Sorry for the story, but I'm extremely proud of all the voluntary work she does.

Mart.
