Submitted my first meter reading to E.ON on 7th Jan. Received a statement on 13th Jan saying payment would be in my account within 11 working days. Still no sign of it. A phone call to them suggests it could now take up to 45 days. Poor!

I'd agree, they can be slow to pay.

As Malc the E.ON man says, you need to give them the reading 7 days either side of your due date. What he doesn't appear to say is that if you miss it, you will have to wait until the next quarter. We have a reminder set up on Outlook Express and submit our claim by email, FitMeterReadings@eonenergy.com which seems to work well apart from the payment delay.

It's not so much the fact that they are slow that is annoying. If the statement had said 45 days I could accept it but to state "within 11 working days" and then move the goalposts is just wrong.

I submitted my second reading to E.ON on 7th Jan, and it got paid into my account yesterday, 1st Feb. Similar wait for the first payment, so not fast, but also not intolerably slow.
