There was extraordinarily strong sun from the off today. I took the collies for their 3-miler, up hill and down dale, whilst I try to remember which planet I'm on. The ground is hard with frost so no need for wellies even in the worst places. I looked right and there half way up the hawthorn scrub was a perfect image, made by the sun, of self and dogs walking on the brow.
Bryn and Moll later chased sticks in the brook and ended up with their feathers covered in instant ice.
Anyway, here's a photo of the partly-filled log store, which is a lean-to off my workshop.

Partly filled?! That's some log store. Looks about two years supply for our house.

Nice store.

I see that you are filling it in layers. You would be better off filling a section at a time then each section can be used in the order it is filled instead of the new stuff being on top of the nice & dry older stuff.

Seems such a shame to upset the Work Of Art called Stacking.

Looking low.

The 2 bits of plank are for No2 cat to get up to the first floor in the barn.

Allways end up with a pile that is just a few inches to big, and hence requires re-cutting.

That is a seriously impressive store, no wonder you need the guard dogs posted outside!

Not yet!

All logs on the front row have been cut this autumn/winter but the light coloured ones are fresh whereas the others were cut quite early and have gone black. It would be easier to have 2 stores really, one for fresh and the other for use. The store is about 2 metres wide.

Yes !! Yes !! Beau,
And maybe you could let us all know when you are going abroad on the hols and when the place will be nice and quiet and maybe a proper map so we will not get lost. There is nothing worse than getting lost in the wilds with a load of firewood.  bikehysteria hysteria
