I've started the first phase ... I've been driving a 6 tonne 360-degree digger for a week  - and have reduced the size of the pond to something manageable, piped 25% of the roof downpipes into it, and started widening the drive a bit to make it more usable for parking for parties etc.

Anyways, enough wibble ...

I'm just about to start connecting the downpipes from 50% of the roof, and 100% of the utility/garage, and I need a tank to harvest this water (and a pump to get it to the Veg Patch)

I would appreciate advice on rainwater storage tanks that I could consider to hold this water.

Plan is to pump it to garden for irrigation.  I suppose some filtering (e.g. WISP) would be beneficial.  I have laid 100M x 25mm MDPE to the "garden".  I also need to lay some ducting  for electricity to the tank.

Rather than having a "big enough" tank for the longest possible drought  Cool I think a tank suitable for a big-ish downpour, and then pump to IBC's will do for me.

So my questions are:

Any advice on makes/brands of tank (inc. WISP filters etc. if required)

How high do I need to mount the IBC's to get enough water pressure to drive an irrigation system for the plants? (Or do I need to pump it anyway?)

Roof Collection Area for the new tank is about 270 M^2 (plan area, excluding "pitch" etc.).  Annual rainfall (East Anglia) is about 575mm

Thanks,

Kristen

You might like to consider a cheap recycled Orange Juice Tank from the "Tank Exchange" I have 2 burried. Make sure they are full of water before back filling with -I suppose- lean mix concrete. Mine wern't and they sagged a bit. ! Still perfecty usable though.
