Costing the earth reviewed solar power in general (PV and thermal, including housholder with 4-yr old system, potential for solar concentrator facilities, etc). On on 7th at 9pm and right now too. Quite a balanced overview I thought, and good for getting the word out to punters. Although it didn't point out just how cheap a solar DHW setup could be in the UK now.

The North African  alternative sounds interesting.  If the steam alternative to  PV panels costs less and also is more efficient it should produce very inexpensive  electricity.
