There is a charity in Ireland, it's big and has been going for many years called Trocaire.  There are currently running a series of adverts on the Radio, bill boards and possibly the telly (I don't know because I don't have one) that go something like this:

"The world's climate is changing. Communities in the developing world are struggling to survive harsh and unpredictable weather conditions. You can help those least able to cope."

https://www.trocaire.org/lent/

I find it strange that they don't seem to mention anything about us being the cause and that if we changed our lifestyles the effects on the worlds poor might not be so dramatic or devastating.  I wonder if they will ever get round to asking for the "poor of Amsterdam" when Holland is threatened with major flooding?

I don't think you can blame the African situation on  on the developed world except insofar as  we  have  interfered with their population statistics.   By feeding in famines and providing medicines for diseases the African population has iincreased continually.  Previously like Europe there would have been population cycles.  Popuiation increases destroy infrastrastructure, particularly trees and other vegetation.

What is needed now is to give more comprehensive assistance to African countries.   I would like to see an association of individual European and African countries, matched roughly by population.   This could  give a more structured assistance on all levels from economics to education. Some countries only need moderate assistance in European terms.
