I am proud to offer official announcement of the planned expansion of our operation in line with recent exponential business growth. Over the last few months we have seen our business double in turnover each month, which has left us short-staffed, short of stock and slow in response to customer queries. This is not through lack of trying - my current working day is 15½ hours (that's 108 hours per week), and I am starting to really want to take a break now and again!

We have listened to customer comments, and as a result we are moving our operation to a more central location in Leicester, although customers that prefer to collect from Monmouth will be able to do so into the foreseeable future. The expansion programme will include:

  • more phonelines,
  • dedicated phone staff,
  • dedicated warehouse staff
  • much larger warehousing
  • an extra £1m invested in stock
  • Comprehensive product demonstrations on-site
  • dedicated national van delivery fleet
  • exhibition/show support

By sharing premises belonging to a sister company, we will be able to offer the same excellent value on products whilst maintaining or improving standards, as we take on a much larger market than we originally anticipated.

I will be working for part of the week in Leicester, and the rest of the week in Monmouth, so for customers used to collecting or visiting at Monmouth, there is no need to panic - we are not going to disappear!

We hope that the expansion programme will prove beneficial for all.

Ivan - it is good to hear about these plans and very welcome news.

The most obvious question as yet left unanswered is "When will this occur" ?

This great news!
Being in the process of setting up an Installation company and committing a lot of money and effort, I confess I was beginning to worry.  My confidence was sliding with the more I learned of contact problems, stock availability and iffy product distribution.  Low prices through low overheads soon lose their appeal when your business is static and customers you have created are going elsewhere.
I can now take the brakes off - but - How soon will it be in place?

The intended date is:

2 September 2006, although the first few days will probably be busy, taken up with moving £200k or so of stock up to Leicester.

Congratulations in advance Smiley Although I have yet to order anything from Navitron I have been very impressed with the product range and quality, based on the feedback on the Forum. I have also been heartened by the staunch support offered freely by existing customers, experts and interested Forum members.

Being based in East Anglia I am delighted to hear that you are moving closer! It will certainly open the market up further. I am very keen to move towards 'Zero Carbon' in any affordable/suitable way I can and as I may be out of work in the next 12 - 18 months I will certainly have to cut my outgoings. Who knows I may even go into the Renewable Energy business...... Wink

I will be away on my much deserved summer hols  Cool when the move takes place so may I wish you and your family, your current and future team best wishes and a safe, smooth and successful transition.

Regards

Bob

Hi to everyone,
My name is Steve Knight and I will be working alongside Ivan from the beginning of September although I have been answering the phone on odd occasions already. My background is in domestic gas and electric heating and I am looking forward to working with you all in the future.
The planned move will be to Oakham in Rutland and as Ivan says should take plave during the first couple of weeks in September although for the foreseeable future we will also keep some stock in Monmouth.
There will inevitably be some teething problems when the move takes place but it should mean that at least someone will be available to answer the phone.

We should be able to accomodate collection from both Monmouth and Oakham for the foreseeable future, but stocks held in Monmouth will be limited, so we will not be able to guarantee that they will always be availabe. However, we are planning to massively increase stock levels at Oakham, so this will allow us to cope with much larger demand without running out of stock!

You neglected to mention how many and what wind turbines are powering this new site, plus how much you expect to feed back into the grid... Grin

We have put in planning permission for demonstration units from the smallest 200W to the largest 20kW. If the planners are happy, we hope to install every size of turbine, with a view to grid-feeding the majority of this. It won't happen overnight, however, so we expect this to take place over the next 6months or so. We will also be installing demonstration solar PV and solar thermal arrays on the site - so it should become quite a tourist attraction!

Congrats on the new outlet/site good to see that renewables are becoming so popular and business is booming.
On that note I am looking to purchase some equipment next week if possible and was wondering where would be best to collect it. I require 2 x 20 tube 47mm panels and 3 x pitched roof mounting kits asap. I have e-mailed Navitron sales and thought I'd drop a line on the forum aswell.
Once again good luck

Wyleu - we would be very happy to have some wind turbine monitoring done. I propose you work 4hours on 4hours off making notes of Amps, volts and wind speed at 5minute intervals ....unless you have a better method?!

Steve Ellis - we will have some stock in monmouth and some in oakham, Leicester (although Oakham will be the location for the majority of the stock). Let us know which is the most convenient and we can probably organise it. We have new telephone numbers and this will be the best way to communicate with us for the next week or so, as we have full time staff on the phones, although we will be tied up with the logistics of moving the business to Leicester over the next 7-10days or so
