There seems be some missing warning labels.

Hi again Tony. Which particular ones (I don't know the regs.)? There's a "Dual supply. Isolate at mains and onsite generator..." visible on the import meter (rather small in my photo). There's a second larger one on the inside of the consumer unit lid, but it's not visible as I only flipped the lid half-open for the photo (so it didn't cover up the stuff below). There's also a "This installation uses wiring of two different colours..." (not exact words), and a mention of the RCDs. There's a circuit diagram indicating the various isolators for the PV system - it used to be on the inside of the cupboard doors. I moved it for the photo, but until I get a new cupboard, it will normally be placed nearby.

Ceebee, its ok then, the photo didnt show them so i thought i woud let you know

so you need the dual supply sticker
the  old/new colour conductors sticker and the rcd sticker.
there should also be a EIC for the change of the fuseboard, and then thats you

cheers

Well while Stef ('sjaglin') has been trying to get people in the UK to fill in details of their systems on the (French, at least for the time being) site http://www.bdpv.fr/, over in this thread, I thought I'd add links to my own page on the site, and an automatically generated image (well so long as I feed in data each month).

Here's my page: http://www.bdpv.fr/voir_fiche.php?util=1175
and monthly output so far:

excellent performance - particularly considering the poo overcast weather for most of this year! Wink

CeeBee:

My similar sized system produced almost identical output:
April 273 kwh
May  282 kwh
June  331 kwh
July   299 kwh
August 200 kwh
September 199 kwh

Hi,
The system is nice and installation is really good.
i am new to solar systems and also have no know how towards the electronics, would you like to let me know why did you choose 210wp solar panels, any reason?
What are the other specifications of the system?

Regards,

Hi Norous.

I'm not much of a DIY person when it comes to things like this, so the Sanyo 210Wp panels were just what my installers proposed. I lot of installers were evidently using the same panels around then. I think Sanyo did a 215Wp panel for a while, but then it disappeared and the 210 became the 'highest power while still a reasonable size' panel. It probably doesn't matter all that much what panels you use. If you're putting together a largish system, it seems to make sense to use a lesser number of high power panels rather than lots of lesser-powered ones. These particular Sanyo panels claim to combine amorphous and crystalline silicon so as to produce better low-light performance, hence more kWh per year for the same kWp than some others. Not sure this makes too much difference - by far the majority or the energy is produced when it's good and sunny - not when the panel is fiddling about producing a few tens of watts in poor weather.

There's not much to be said about the specification of the rest of it (that isn't obvious from the pictures). 10 panels, arranged in two 'strings' of 5 (this is just so you end up with appropriate voltage/current to match the inverter). Fronius grid-tie inverter.

Anyway, do stick around. There are plenty people on here who know lots. Perhaps post a new thread in the Solar PV forum if you want more people to notice your questions.
