Some fine fettling work there. Did you consider micro-inverters? Looks like you have a site that would benefit from them.

Thank you. The panels even stayed up in the gales.

We did put in per panel control. And very glad we are too.

We didn't go micro-inverter because we get very high grid voltage (I've measured 248V on a number of occasions) and I was worried that with it being 30m from the rear arrays to the meter we might get enough voltage drop to trip out AC micro-inverters.

The Solar Edge system controls each panel individually but it's all DC back to the inverters.

Interesting work Richard
I assume you are getting FITs and good luck with 43p as opposed to 21p.
Will be very interesting to look at your production figures. The Solar Edge technology looks very interesting, will be interesting to see how it works in practice

Hi Sean,

I've PM'd you my log on credentials so you can see how my panels are doing.

If you go into layout you can check by panel.

Richard, Many thanks. A comparative study betwee the DSolar Edge and normal technology might be interesting. Looks like a good project for next year.

Hi Sean,

Best day ever today. Sun is creeping above the tree tops for more than 2 minutes a day. Impact on performance is dramatic. I also noticed the rear set of panels was almost free of shade at noon.

Hoping for (much) better things soon.

Interesting shading problem today.

According to the displays on the inverters, that shadow is worth about 1.5kW

Only one choice: I'm going to have to move the house.
