Congratulations on the meet! I'll try to get down for the next event - tides, seals and storms permitting.

It was good to meet all attending. We had a very interesting albeit short stay. Thanks to Ivan and Steve for organising and to Steve for the BBQ food.  Hope to meet up again.  Ian and Mary

Most enjoyable day,

Great to put faces to posts - and marvel at the enthusiasm of all concerned !   I was particularly impressed by Ken's gasification stove - what a beast !  Cool

It would be great if this were to become an annual event - already thinking of what toys would be appropriate for a re-run - and there were a few prolific and/or  ( Smiley ) interesting posters who were not able to make it on this year's day.

Thanks to all - especially Ivan and Steve for the really great hospitality.

best regards

Bill

...Mrs Gus has had to change her tack since the weekend!

..She's still barbed & venomous though! ,needless to say when she writes me the list rather than just whinging about it, i'll tackle a bit here & there, houses aren't straight forward, true or plumb!

Personally I can't move or set up diy gear in order to complete bits & bobs until SHE sorts out her bloody crafting items! ..& what with 3 boxer dogs lying all over the place & breaking wind it's not easy.

..although you do always have a dog to blame when you need to break wind!  whistlie ..(which at least one has done since typing this)

Next time we'll be over for a longer stint, couldn't get the dogs in kennels for the week-end as it's summer hols (forgot) ..so definitely more beer loving!

Ooops, ooooops and tripple ooooops.  I completely missed this thread until now.  Bad Jack.  Lesson learnt: must keep an eye on more than a small handful of forum threads at once!

Thanks,
Jack

Hello Ivan and Steve! Many thanks for Sunday's party. Gordon says he reckons it's a first for him, meaning sitting in the sun  Cool in the midst of an industrial estate drinking beer and munching burgers. We both enjoyed the afternoon and, as someone above says, it was good being able to put faces to web names. I was amused by the various men playing with their various camp fires  whistlie ... and I loved the electric bike  bike ... Sorry we had to leave before the solar curry was ready. It certainly  stir smelled good  Smiley ... I look forward to next year's party!

almost forgot...... CeeBee wins the virtual (ie non-existant) trophy for lowest carbon travelling, having travelled 60-odd miles by bicycle.

More effort required by everyone else for the next party.....watch this space!

Thanks Ivan. I'll treasure it! Do I have to return it at the next party? Wondering what the carbon-footprint of half-a-dozen energy bars, a pork pie, and some home-grown tomatoes is. Won't count the beer, wine, burgers, and solar curry, as I'd have consumed those anyway. Oh - and an almost new bicycle as well. Nearly done 300 miles on it now in about 5 weeks, but obviously the Navitron trip helped with that.
