One of the benefits of the Forum is to give members the opportunity to resolve any problems they may have with a system via the wealth of experience available from other members. It does not have to be a Navitron system! although you should be prepared for the odd 'smiley comment' if it's not  Cheesy

However in order to provide the best advise, it is essential for you to provide as much information as possible about your system in order for us to be able to help. Therefore when posting a request for help please ensure that the following details are included along with a description of your problem:

  • Type of panel - Evacuated tube or Flat plate
  • Number of panels and tubes
  • Pipe diameter and approximate length of pipe runs in flow and return connections to panel
  • Cylinder type or Thermal Store type, manufacturer and lagging thickness
  • Dimensions and capacity of cylinder/thermal store
  • Top and bottom cylinder/store temperatures and panel/manifold temperatures:
    • First thing in the morning before any water is drawn-off
    • At or around mid-day
    • Late at night once everyone gone to bed i.e. finished drawing-off water
  • Water consumption through the day(approx)
  • Outside temp (mainly appropriate to winter issues)
  • Antifreeze percentage if used
  • Pressurised system components used e.g. Expansion Vessel make, static and dynamic system pressures (if different), non-return valve type
  • Location of air vents, vent type i.e. manual  Smiley or automatic Angry and if air is still being collected/vented/circulating
  • Solar controller manufacturer/model and settings
  • Pumped or thermosyphon system
  • Pump running times (e.g. continuous or intermittent for seconds/minutes at a time)

Whilst this may seem a daunting list, without knowing the precise system components, a lot of time and posts can be wasted asking question after question, to get to the bottom of the issue.
We are here to help - providing the necessary information should enable a faster resolution to your problem

If you've got the TDC controllers, there is a feature that provides you with a list of all settings and what they have been set to (9: Service Data)  - so if you've got these controllers, please list all the setting provided in this list. One of the regular problems is that people have set features that they hadn't intended to use etc.
