Anyone in/around Sussex?

I am after some prices for a part proffessional part DIY install.  Clear skies acreditied would be good.

Basically I want to do all the gopher plummbing/wiring, and get someone to check it and put the tubes on the roof.

Is this a sensible way of cutting costs?

We're in Sussex - I'm sure we could help you out! Cool
Clearskies? - not us, neither's anybody now - the whole body has gone defunct! Wink
As for grants in general, read our "grants" page - we're at the very least "sceptical" of the whole system - all it does is drive prices up, and helps comfy cartels - using Navitron products we can usually undercut a "grant assisted" scheme by miles! Grin
(I'm in and out like a yo-yo at the moment - either email, pm me, or give me a ring on 01435-812163)

I know about the grant "issues" - cartel is not far from it.

I was thinking along the line of installing a navitron system, and then trying to claim a grant!  I am aware of all their silly rules, and apart from the professional installer bit I think I have it all covered.

I would need to get an installer who is on thier list, and would agree to it being a proffessional install even if I did most of the grunt work.

Long shot I know.

I like your style! Wink
I think you'll find the problem being that you have to apply for the grant BEFORE you commence work - which will mean loads of hoop-jumping, and the  use of one of the present cartel!  Smiley

Hello,

I'm afraid that until Ivan gets his SPF certification report, hopefully in the next couple of months, and then gets oto the LCBP (aka Clear Skies) recognised product list you have no prospect of getting a LCBP grant for installation of the Navitron tubes. To get a grant the product you install has to be on the recognised product list and accredited installers are likely to confine themselves to accredited kit. Notwithstanding, the good news is that Navitron kit still undercuts accredited prices by a good margin and a half and represents the best value option you'll find.

If the roof work is the problem you'd be better off contacting a local roofer to do that part of the job for you than any of the accredited installers. Why not go on one of Ivan's one day installer courses to take on the whole job yourself ?

good luck

As I understand it you can apply for grants retrospectively(sp) and as Navitron pannels are soon to be accredited the only issues I can see remaining are;

a) Professional installed - see my original post
b) Hotwater cyclinger - I understand that navitron cyclinders are already on the clear skies list
c) All the other enegy efficiency stuff - I am already 90% there.

So basically if I can get round the above, I can install a navitron system, and then retrospecitvely claim a grant som time in the future.
