Having used low energy lamps since they came with separate (out-sized) ballasts
I was pleased to discover, in Turkey,
Philips Circular 25W Edison Screw lamps.

Our former 'chandeliers' employed 3 x 11W Philips Genie Energy Savers,
(free from either the power co or the local Council). These looked bluer
than whatever they replaced, (most likely Wife-sourced from Ikea).

A simple glass ceiling light needed some bodging to reposition the
female ES socket from horizontal to vertical.

Currently sitting in SAD dispersing full illumination.
Boy do they make the tripled-up Genies look yellow.

Quick Google search with the 'CDL 685' reference found nothing.

Full details from packaging:
Philips 6 year
Daylight 25W = 150W
Philips Circular CDL 865
E27 ES 6000h
1700 lumen 190mA.

Anyone know where I can get them in the UK?

Reply from Philips Lighting Contact Centre:

"Unfortunately the one you mention is not for sale in the UK.
In the ,link below you can find what is on the market in the UK, and as you then can see there is not one with a colourtemp. og 865 = 6500 Kelvin.

I hope I have answered your question satisfactorily. If you have any further enquiries into this matter, please contact us and refer to your case number PHL-080912-0092"

They then forgot to send the 'link'.
It showed up a bit later.
I only got any useful results from using the Advanced search.

So will have to see if anyone I know is of to Turkey, (obviously not with XL).

forgive the really long link, but was this the sort of thing you were after?

http://www.firstlightdirect.com/pp/Daylight%5FLight%5FBulbs%5Fand%5FFluorescent%5FTubes/Light%5FBulbs/25Watt%5F%28Approx%5F125Watt%29%5F8000%5FHours%5FSpiral%5FLight%5FBulbs%5Fwith%5FEdison%5FScrewed%5FCap%5FES%5F6400K%5FFinish.html

Through the introduction of the Pro-Lite "DAYLITE" range of lamps, this colour is replaced by a much crisper, whiter light, simulating Natural Daylight (NDL), or 6400K. Now available in normal household bases (BC & ES) this range of lamps is also a fantastic choice for areas requiring crisp white light. Typical examples include desk and reading lamps, garages, workshops, art studios, and any main household area for the SAD sufferer.

£10.14 each... bit dear but the do them at different wattages.
