Can anybody recommend a AC pump for filtered rain water to pump up to the loft tank, lift will be 4 meters. was looking for one with a integral pressure switch, but this just seems to double the price, would a separate pipe connected one be any cheaper...

I have been using a dc 12 volt pump to run the system directly.

Your best bet is to look at one with an integral pressure vessel as well as a pressure switch.
I found that i had to fit  a small pressure vessel  with my system because the pump would build up to pressure before the ball valve had completely closed so the pump kept cycling.on and off.

hope this helps !
