That's great Malcolm,
Have you got any piccies to post? I had got a couple of quotes for professionally made equipment to rectify and smooth single phase AC to <10% ripple for the GTI, the best price was £410 + VAT! I am willing to bet that your approach is a damn sight more cost effective.
Cheers,
Paul

Paulo. Sorry for not replying sooner. Busy with other things.

The REUK rectifier cost less than £2 and the capacitor (from Farnell) cost around £70. I also bought an enclosure box for about £7. A bit of wire and a few connectors and about an hour's work. Nice to know I 'saved' over £300.

I am looking at a very similar set up. 750W high head.
However i want it to be grid-tie.
What kit would be required to condition power to be grid compatible?

Nasty,

As this thread suggests a simple FWBR and a smoothing capacitor and then feed this direct into the input of your chosen GTI. It really should be this simple.

If you're not comfortable with the construction of such a device I could make one for you.

Regards
