Ah, here i am then.... Sorry for the gap, like! I have a few misc tinkery pics to post - prob tomorrow.
We had to change the water in the warminator as it got a bit 'special'. It almost developed a rudimentary life force of some kind. Thought it should be terminated before it made any demands.... So i am going to start the awesomely dull List-o-Numbers again.

Day 460 in the Big Frotter House, and Frot and Speccy are in probably not in the garden connecting the Navvy tubes to the giant poaching pool.

Come on Frot - you have competition now - a young usurper, whose planning a 20 tube solar h*tt*b.   And its a 5 seater  whistlie

When are you next on the wireless?  Phonic FM is loud and clear here in Southern China - and a big hit with the locals.

OK, well our gert poaching donut is a 5 seater PLUS one fully recumbent position. 1200 litres.
30 toob panel combined with smallish heat store working awesomely to provide all needed heating in this bright weather. The only leccy needed has been for the filter/pump. About 1-2kwh per day.
The guesstimate figure of 8kwh/day is about right for days with no sun, a bit more in cold or windy weather.
Havent quite got the heat store hot enough to invoke the heat dump circuit yet. This works on the tank thermostat and is set to 85C. Highest temp seen stored has been 87C.
So yep, it works! I reckon the heat store makes it way better than it would be without one. Youre not looking for maximum temp increase in one go, the water needs to stay at around 38-40C so some form of storage/control is highly desirable.
Go for it - solar poaching is the way forward!
