Best temperatures so far,  55C at the bottom of the tank at midday.   No water was drawn off and the buffer tank was hot for once, heating the upper part of the cylinder.     30X47mm tubes 250l tank south facing.

DH
nice performance. Weather not so good here today. Why don't you turn your kWh estimator on and make it easier to compare systems?

S3 = top of tank?  Presumably warmer from immersion overnight or something?

Top of tank is probably a mixture of solar and immersion.  The immersion normally only brings the temperature to 59C on its own.   I have turned on the  kWh estimator.   Anyone know what the flow rate should be with 10mm pipe, about 12m each way and the normal Navitron supplied pump?

I have a strange error in the mornings, the indicator light flashes red instead of steady green but  no error is displayed.    It disappears once the tank heats up a bit.

Hi
For me S3 (top tank temperature is topped up by  an air source heat pump. But seriously I would like the kWh function enabled more and compare systems. Mine is less than a year old but only figured how to enable the kWh mode on the 30th Nov. So I only have Dec and Jan totals.

I turned off frost protection, it was recording frost protection on before that as an error.   So it flashes as a warning that it would do  frost protection if given the chance?     I suppose I only look at the temperatures when it is sunny and therefore frosty as well.

I returned to a job yesterday which I installed in October (30 tubes on 250litre) I was amazed when the temp at the bottom of the tank got up to almost 50, considering snow was still melting off the collectors!  The customer was also slightly amazed as he didn't think they 'worked' in the winter!

Had rubbish temperatures this month due to snow on tubes and cloud....but finally broke 50C today (top of tank and unheated by boiler since 30C yesterday morning).

Yes, it really felt like spring today - ending our seemingly never-ending cloudy/snowy days.

Ambient outdoor temperature reached a warm 9C today, although my wife didn't take kindly to my suggestion of opening the windows to warm the house) and sunshine almost all day. Our tank hasn't been heated for two days, so pretty cold this morning, but aided by sun only, it reached a nice 42C from top to bottom, which we later topped up with the woodstove.

A lot of sun this week. The controller is showing 16 Kwh for today,  24 for yesterday and Sunday when there were no clouds.   I have set the flow rate at 300 litres per hour but I think that must be about three times too high.   Daily requirement is about 14 KWh but solar  isn't yet producing all yet.   I will turn the estimated flow setting down to 100 per hour and see what it looks like as the input increases.

Pipework is 10mm and about twelve metres each way.
