Congrats - but an obeservation- you are using el-cheapo grey insulation. it WILL melt on a hot day - mine did. You should also seal the gaps so water doesnt get in.

In a world where there are more talkers than doers, doers get an applaud.

Well done,
I would suggest to seperate the flow and return asap 101, as the return will absorb the heat from flow to the cyl and cool down the fluid, if the pipes are running together...which they look like they do.

Well done 101, applaud well and truly earned.

Nice to have a flat roof spare to sit the panel, but make sure it is firmly bolted down to survive the strong winds.

£1100 water rates  Shocked  Does that mean you don't have a meter? The Water Sharks will fit one for free.

Ours was £430 which assumes 185m3 per year. Switched to meter recently and we only use about 65m3 a year, probably saving £200. That's 2 adults + 2 older kids in school, gravity showers only, grade A appliances. My rainwater scheme is in the pipeline  Wink looking for a good pump.

cheers

 Paul,
Are you going for a 240v or 12v pump? I've been searching for a 12v pump, but struggling to find one that pumps to a head above 5m.

Our water rates are c. 200 PA. No meter. We have no sewage as we have a septic tank. Possibly Northumbrian water is particularly cheap?

Living in Torbay we get to pay for the wonderfully named clean sweep due to years of under spending by south west water, they still dump alot of treated sewage into the sea. Will be getting a water meter fitted once system is fitted and filled, have got 3 1500 liter tanks being delivered tomorrow and have already got pump and filter gear. With 10 of us in the house our water usage is probably quite high, but will be banning baths.

Am hoping to install a PV array on the same roof with the thermal, have got my first 2 panels already...

Either, could use a spare PC supply for 12V (no batteries here mate, grid-tie waiting for feed-in tariffs!).

101 - where did you get the pump and filter?

Filters from screwfix when they were on offer and the pump from a company called atsite that sells draper stuff...
