I had no output from my 3phase 30kva lister generator on all 3 phases, no burning smell, no bad connections.

It is old and has an external exciter and no electronic avr, in the control panel there is only a rectifier and a what i can describe as a hollow 8" coil of wire with various connections, checked the diodes on the rectifier and brushes, all ok.

Started generator again and was running for 1min, then power slowley came back (lamp went from dim to full within 20 sec's) and has been fine since Roll Eyes

Think there was not enough magnatism within the gen to excite it, Is there anything i can do to prevent it from getting worse?
