Flying my plane

I dont "get" the last one that says to switch of breaker before working on the panels. The panels will still be live unless its dark or you put a cover over them. So working on the solar panel at any time is a live working operation.

Justme

I did realise that but the installation is via a cable that goes underground into a wide base pole and the switch is really to isolate the cable between the pole and the inverter inside the building

I will try and get something fitted to the underside of the frame or to the top of the pole

eco-nomical have started supplying PV ancilliaries, incuding isolators:
                 ratedvoltage@current             vocmax@current
KG20     450V @ 16A, 500V @ 12A     520V @ 16A, 575V @ 12A    £35.50 + VAT (£40.83)
KG32    450V @ 25A, 500V @ 20A    520V @ 25A, 575V @ 20A    £40.42 + VAT (£46.48)

Which looks quite good to me.

I hope i should be able to attach a jpg of some labels you could print out and laminate them

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but it was this thread that brought me to this forum.
I've dealt with a renewable energy company for the last 4 years and have been supplying them warning labels, in various guises based on the ones linked by petertc (which I believe are from the renewables on buildings blah blah vol2).

120mm x 30mm, exactly as those designs, or tweaked to suit the customer, either screen printed or digital print versions available.  (If you are interested, please get in touch.)

Has anyone managed to source an engraved version of these? It is something I need to do today - hence finding this forum from google.

yes, there called traffolite tallies and used a lot in the engineering/utility industry to mark, valves isolators etc.

fitted with small self tapping screws, and also with a double sided tape, they never come off!!

Tony,
thanks for that, I managed to get some made up without knowing the name... am sure people must have thought I was a nugget!
I got them with 3M double sided padded backing.

Anyway, a sneaky plug for my label supply services, which, since my last post I have a large stock of screenprinted solar pv labels and can sort out digital printed labels too.

For info, look here:-> http://www.ksdigital.eu/solar.html www.ksdigital.eu/solar.html or email me kelvyn@ksdigital.eu
