It's come to our attention that "Riselaw" has passed away - really nice chap, made some 72 posts in his time on the board. Got to know him slightly, sold him a turbine, and he mentioned his blog about his battle with myeoloma - he hadn't visited the forum for a while, so went to visit his blog, and discovered this - http://news.scotsman.com/obituaries/Professor-Stewart-Asquith.5169779.jp

Sad news - he was obviously a well respected, talented and compassionate man - I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

Here's to you Stewart - may your memory live on.

What struck me from reading his posts is how self effacing he was. He realised that he was knowledgeable in some areas but was happy to seek the assistance of others and was appreciative of their suggestions.
If one can aspire to an obituary then one like his will do for me!  garden

For someone to achieve that from, what should I say, such inauspicious beginnings indicates a remarkable character.  Must be a sad loss to his family, friends and colleagues.

Well, it has to be said that there was somebody who should be held up as an example of how to lead your life.

If I could achieve just half of what he did in his 61 years I'd be amazed.  His family must be very proud of him and I'm sure he wil be sadly missed by so many people.  To have made such a positive impact on so many lives and all done for the benefit of his fellow men, that's something we don't hear or read about very often these days.

May he rest in peace and may his family's memories of him grow stronger and happier every day.  I shall certainly raise a glass of whisky to his name this evening.
