Now that looks like a "rice boat", not so good for temperate climes me think.  Maybe I should put in an order for some Norfolk reed.   Grin

it certainly looks oriental but I wouldnt dare call it junk Grin

When i was a kid, i remember grandpa had a pencil holder carved from bamboo on his office desk that looked similar to that.

That looks a very good price.  I suppose if it hasn't got osmosis by now it won't get it. ( I mean she, of course.)

maintenance is always an issue especially with sea boats with lots of wood.
Although the Formosas have a GRP hull and deck, they are fitted out with a lot of teak inside and topside.

Sadly i can tell from the pix that this one needs a lot of TLC and the other deal breaker is the wooden masts.

As for price, shes in the right range and from the best era for GRP as the oil prices back in 78 were cheap enough for the laminate to be well built. A good 40% thicker than she would be if built today
