After months of struggling and trying to work with a NSLU2 that had Unslung I finally have given up and gone over to the dark side.

I purchased an Acer Revo and use logtemp / 1 wire sensors to dump images to a webserver.

The revo uses windoze vista and so is very easy to use, plus comes with a HDMI port and doubles up as a web surfing device that clamps behind
a tv.  Youtube is surprisingly good on it.

Power consumption is of the order of 20 to 30 watts and it also should be able to interface with owls new USB device (5 usb ports).

May we worth a look for people who could not get their head around redbooting, RDDtool, etc etc

hmmmm... I was a Unix numpty before I bought my slug, I'm running it unslung, and have got Digitemp running. I didn't go for RRDtool as I was already using MySQL for something else, so I just pushed the data to there using a perl script and a cron tab.
Had a lot more fun getting the data out, SQL requests inside php code have been my favoured technique. I just haven't really found a totally easy graphing solution.
I have tried about five different graphing suites, but the nicest results have been from Open Flash Charts, which is what I'm currently using.

I think If I were to do it all again hardware wise, I might go for an Emprex, as they seem value for money, can take a debian mirror, do all the data crunching, and act as a webTV console, for about 15w consumption which is about what my slug takes now.

Good luck though with sticking to Doze, logtemp is nice and works well.

I don't know if you've tried it but I rather like the flot library.  I used it on my Fresnel page, for example.  It involves some JavaScript programming in the web page which might be seen as a minus but does have the advantage of simplifying things dramatically on the server making very low power servers practical.

Thanks for posting that Flot link, I can think of an instant use for it:D.  The Fresnel page looks interesting by is way over my head.
