Can a plugin monitor be used to see the power output from a Grid Tie Inverter?

I was wondering if those appliance monitors would work if I plugged the Soladin in to, as I haven't got a Mastervolt soladin PC link cable to see my performance.

I use an "whole house energy monitor" , but put the clamp around the inverter output wire not the house incomer. Fairly accurate but I don't believe that at night I continuously produce 19w as displayed Grin Grin
For data purposes i record from a dedicated electricity meter -less than a tenner on ebay.
Anyone  know how to run soladin software on a mac ?
rgds George.

Hi George,

You could always run Windows as a virtual PC on the Mac using something like VMware Fusion??

Yes, you can use a power meter to read generated watts - they don't care which way the power is 'going' (in or out). However, it won't be G83, as it needs to be hard-wired.
