I think the 'C' ratings are for a specific single week of data, normally around a week in the past. Currently, my rating is being shown for week ending 26th July. The carbon group rankings are shown for the week about 2 weeks in the past. Currently, the Navitron group comparisons are generated for week ending 19th July. So keep up your efforts, reduce your power consumption, and you'll move up the rankings in the next week or two

Put in my monthly readings for as far back as January.... rated A+ and rank 1 out of 10 in the Navitron group. Never trust things like this they never manage to account for everything. Until surveys like this can actually take a measure of what mix of solid fuel you burn during the heating season they are not ideal. Made me feel good for two minutes though.

Still D rated and ranked 6th with 6 months of data entered. Perhaps I'll go back in and edit a few of the the later entries to see what happens.

erm.... I think I have made a mistake, its looking for a cumulative meter reading isn't it not your consumption?!? I'll have to edit my figures, really couldn't understand how I was up the top Thats better, a B rating and 2nd in the group, bit more like it.... phew!

Hi I think the data is a bit misleading, I only have 2 people in the house. If I had a couple of extra people it would make my readings look a lot better!! I suppose it is easier to compare co2/household as opposed to co2/person. A lot of the co2 is there if you have 1 or 6 people in the house. Iain

why is it misleading? it shows how many people live in your house, and as you say it is co2 'per person' so you can directly compare with other houses with different occupation levels.
if it was just 'per house' then that could be misleading

I suppose "misleading" is the wrong word. I was just thinking that if I had 2 other people living in the house my co2 measure/person would be half of what it is now. (The comment was made a bit tongue in cheek) I admit there would be a slight increase in used power with 2 extra but that would be minimal. All my hot water comes from solar, but there might be a slight increase in electric usage. It is a useful tool to measure week by week. Already I have found a noticeable drop in gas last week and the only thing to change is I have switched off the gas fire pilot light! Iain

The easy conclusion to draw is that you should get a couple of lodgers and pat yourself on your back for halving your CO2 emissions ... it may come to that I would respectfully suggest that comparing yourself with similar properties / occupants is a good place to start. If you are the most frugal in that group "Well Done", and if you are the least then no doubt it will spur you to try to make improvements. Comparing your circumstances to a sardine factory of eco-warriors is not going to give you any incentive, just depression I expect!

your co2 per person wouldn't be half what it is now because twice as many people would need almost twice as much washing (clothes, personal and dishes), almost twice as much cooking energy, etc....

I seem to have dropped to a C from B. With no change in our consumtion this can only be because an overall shift in the usage of imeasure users.
