hi folks... it look like the answer will be 'yes', but can one of you confirm that you can enter historical data into imeasure, and for how long back it will go? It doesn't make it clear on the imeasure website.
cheers..
oh and happy snowy new year.

George,
Sorry for late reply been away from home a few days for work.
Our main heatsource in the winter is a 1950's rayburn, running on a mix of wood, peat and coal when we are desperate. From March to October all hot water is provided by solar. Our summer usage of electricity is higher than our autumn/spring slightly. However it evens out in the deepest of winter. This is because as the seasons change we use the range less for heating, and so start to use the electric cooker a bit more. When we are in the deepest part of winter we have fairly short days in terms of useable daylight in the house so tend to have lights on a LOT more. The house is occupied 24/7. My eldest just started school this August but the young one is still only on half days at playgroup. So TV's computers on for them quite a bit too.
Average daily consumption is about 10-12Kwh. We also lived by the effergy for about 14 months, we still have it in the kitchen and still use it but having put so much effort into reducing down, its going to take a big push to reduce further. I got hold of some of those powerdown multiplug things, which were E.on ones being flogged on ebay, they have prooved to be tempremental, i.e. the remote element doesnt always work, but they have been fantastic in enabling the kids to press one button to turn on TV,digibox, video,DVD etc all in one go, and more importantly to turn them all off in one go.
When I have finished all the stuff with our windturbine I expect to at least half my grid consumption, and possible go entire periods with zero consumption.
The house again is three foot thick stone walls so once we have thermal mass we keep it for a while. I have a lot more to do in the insulation department and hopefully this will bring down my heating bills in the winter.
I expect us to slip on the rankings though for a week or two as there has been prolific use of an electric panel heater in the kids bedroom during the school holidays, (the bedroom is otherwise unheated) just so we could send them up there to play.
Regards,
Mark

You can. If it is not clear on the site, you can email them and they will set it up. I did this in August, via their forum, and input two years worth of data. Unfortunately I am 21st out of 21 having had aged relatives staying over Christmas, cranking the heat up running the dishwasher 3 times a day. I have a solid wall house and internal insulation is slowly being rolled out as I decorate. One room down, many to go. Despite that my energy consumption trend is downwards and I hope this will continue. I have just got at Efergy meter and have already identified the Panasonic microwave consumer 60w on standby and the smoke alarms 40w but there is nothing I can do about the latter. John

Opps
So by joining the Carbon Club I can see that I'm surprisingly in 9th place....... how'd that happen, beyond me I can tell you.

OK. I put some data in but couldn't see how to go back more than 6 months. Do I need to use the 'read CSV' feature for earlier data?
Oh, and 2nd :-)

Aggghhh, pushed down to 5th, worst rating yet, but next few weeks look promising.
Interesting that 'household' graph shows most current data i.e. for the 17th Jan, the 'Carbon ratings' are for the 10th Jan and the 'carbon clubs' are for the 3rd of Jan. I guess it gives time for all the results to be entered.
Has anyone been on imeasure long enough to have any 'whole year' data, will it then provide yoy comparisons?

the csv feature is to download the results, which i shoudln't think you'll need what date do you want to start on, i'll give you the web address

I have 29 months data in Imeasure. It does not give year on year comparisons and I have suggested to them that it does. I compare my energy usage in the last 52 weeks with the prior 52 weeks and have saved around 6%. I have suggested to Imeasure that they include some sort of similar comparison. If their population has saved 5% yoy and I have saved 6%, I am happy. If their population has saved 7%, then I would be unhappy. Looking at my energy usage (no solar yet, but PV going in soon, solid walls, but plans to internally insulate walls, biggish house, no wood or coal burning) and comparing it with the top 5 Navitron users is depressing. Yes I reckon we'll slip down the rankings when the last two weeks data gets included , boiler on for long periods in the cold weather, working @ home more due to office being inaccessible
