yeah i think you'll have to wait until after midnight tonight

i think its so they can do direct week by week comparisons, if everyone was doing different days all the time it might not work so well?

do you have historical data?
you can enter that too by using the correct web address

Yes , correct , but even thenthe "new " results will be still 7 days old and include all data up to midnight one week ago.
I guess this is to give everyone 7 days to enter last weeks data!

I have always taken my meter readings on a Friday morning, long before I started using imeasure, so I just carry on with my Friday readings that I then add to imeasure on Monday, I am happy that my data is consistent but I may be a few days out of step with the rest of the world (nothing new there) Smiley

Signed up about a month ago and getting into the habbit of it.  We're (housemate and I) rated A, which I'm pretty pleased with. But I can tell you all it's because we keep the thermostat at 17 degrees, and even then timer only goes on for twenty minutes in morning and evening.  (All other heating is from stove, and neighbours - we're a middle flat). I guess our leccy use is much more average - particularly as we cook with it.

And I think we've stormed into 3rd in the Navitron club.  Although I seem to have ticked an 'anonymous' box or something when i signed up, because I keep coming up on rankings as 'I'm Shy' rather than my username which is charlie.blair I think.     One other issue is that it seems to have my electricity costs down as 0p/kWh, which is a pity (I can think perfectly easily in kWh, but I'm not sure it means much to housemate).

we rarely use the heating at all and we're still a B!

oh and you can change the leccy cost.

Worked out how to change the leccy price (through the change meter function).

The variability amongst even forum members (who are presumably all fairly clued up about doing the obvious stuff) is surprisingly high.     It would be nice if they could display to us punters some analysis of all the details the geeks at ECI are studying (ie house type effect on CO2, rather than just number of people in a home).

I might be about to wreck my place in the rankings as I've noticed that imeasure is not processing my gas readings correctly. I have selected 100 x cubic feet in the user details but I can see from a period last summer when I used a consistent 3 'unit' per week it is shown as 32kWh not 94kWh I would expect for 3 units at 100 ft3.

I made myself a rough and ready spread sheet to convert 'units' of either m3 or 100 ft3 to kWh. It works OK against my gas bill but if anyone can see if I've made a mistake I'd be pleased to hear.

Hmm, my rankings have been falling recently and I've just realised why: although I can set a negative price for the solar export, I can't tell imeasure not to simply add up all the readings. So the more solar I generate and export, the larger my carboin footprint and the worse my ranking. As the sun came out last week I've plumetted from about 3rd to 19th place, and from grade A to C. because I have both generation and export meters I'm even getting double-counted in imeasure's sums. It should actually be charging me for the carbon on just the import meter reading and showing total usage as import+(generation-export). I'll point out this issue to them.

Wookey, I think there is a new version of imeasure in the offing but it is beginning to show it's limitations, if they can't deal with the basics like 2 types of gas meter how can they begin to address your export meter!!!

what i have been doing is taking the pv production add this to my import reading then subtracting the export value. to give my total energy usage and using this as my meter reading
I have been adding these to my own spreadsheet, last 2 weeks have produced 13 kwh of pv ( 640wp system) and exported 8 kwh this last week.

I did have a real funny reading the other week the actual readings went from 24kwh week down to 17 kwh week then last week up to 34 kwh, i af just trying to get my head around what is going on.

waiting with interest too see what happens with the next reading, we have been averaging 26 kwh per week for the electricity.

Desperate, check your gas units - and don't put in 00s at the beginning. My first input was way out because I put in zeros at start and the decimal place ended up in the wrong place (gas meters weren't designed to mean anything to punters I think).
I can't believe we're all that green and worthy.

Charlieb

Hiya
units are ok, in M3 and no zeros in the readings, I fear it more down to living in a big old '30s semi ,solid walls, naff windows and a Mrs that feels the cold anywhere below 22 degs whistlie

Hi,

Now that I am about to go live with my PV tomorrow, is there any consensus on what should be measured on I-measure?

Import - as that is the carbon used

Import less export

Import plus generation less export - as that is the electricity used and it is all about reducing usage

Any ideas?

Unless there is any consensus, I shall just continue to read the meter, i.e. go with Import only
