"Power Development for Small Streams" was written by Carl Harris and Samuel Rice in the 1920s, and it's free to download from the American Library internet archive:

It's a really interesting and straightforward look at DIY hydro, covering everything from waterwheels to turbines to building dams.

It might be classed as spam but the link is good and there is no advertising or tripe when followed... might have been better to ask where to post links though...

The book is a scanned ebook of a 1920's publication, might be of interest to Guy.

Hi. It certainly wasn't my intention to spam anyone. I'm planning a waterwheel project myself, and found this book really useful.
I've been following the waterwheel project in France on this forum, and a few more on youtube. I like this ebook because among other things, it shows you how to calculate how much power you can get from very small streams.

Nobody makes any money from the book. It's free because it was written in the 1920s and the copyright has expired. And, as you say, there's no advertising on the link - it's just a library archive.
Definitely worth a look for anyone, like me, who is interested in hydro.

no worries - we suffer badly from spam, so everyone's a bit trigger-happy Grin
I too thought it might be spam, and checked it out, but as you say, it's just a good free guide - by the way, welcome to the forum!
