If I can I usually do

« on: January 05, 2007, 11:54:02 PM »

Does anyone know what is inside one of these boiler Neutralizer things?

All i can imagine is there is a series of one way valves that allow water to flow in one direction and not the other.

Can anyone help?

Hello Phil,

To my understanding you can think of the Dunsley Neutraliser as simply a particularly capacious manifold. There is no mysterious internal pipework. The directions of flow into and out of the Neutraiser are determined by the pumps and valves external to the body of the Neutraliser.

Its function is to fix the 'neutral point' of the system such that various system circuits can operate independently, e.g. such that your oil boiler doesn't start pumping hot water through the back boiler on your wood stove. This same objective of fixing a system's neutral point such that circuits act independently can also be achieved using a vented thermal store.
