 help

Having just received one of those rather nice weather stations from good ol' Navitron at a reasonable price, I now find that I am at a loss on how to disable the Atomic Clock.  Mrs B would rather tell the time without having to subtract one hour to get GMT, so would I come to that.

Having set the time manually it just resets itself to Atomic time.  Navitron blurb says it can be disabled but trawling through the manual I am at a loss to find out how to do it.    wackoold

Don't suppose anyone has one and has managed it and would like to pass on the info, perhaps for an applaud or two.  Bet I get delisted now for attempting to bribe someone.  facepalm

Blessings,

I have an idea about this, but it rather depends on it being made by Koch and having a product code on the back. So can you see a product code? I have a similar thing (not the weather station) we picked up in Germany and if I recall had a similar problem. I think the German version of the instructions on their website were more helpful in this respect. But you can only search by product code.

The website was www.koch-thermometer.eu if you want to look yourself. I may be in a position to look through the German and provide you with a clue if necessary, if you locate it.

However, having now seen just how many different manufacturers make such gadgets - I'm probably wrong. However the essence of it is that no-one would limit their possible market by not allowing for other than one time zone. In the case of the one I have, during time setting, the last possible adjustment is a 2 digit number which is hours offset from current German time. Up and Down were used to adjust this in the same way as all the other time settings. So, might be worth looking for. I realise that this doesn't actually disable it, but would presumably be just as useful.

Thanks Pat,

Chaney Instruments, AcuRite 00549W I think, but you have prompted me to raid the forums.  Apparently the US versions have time offsets to work with the Atomic Clock but it looks like the European ones do not.  Grin Grin

but hey

I suppose you could open it up and short out the aerial if you can identify it. Then the manual time won't get overridden.

Yep, no problem (ish)

cept the time signal is beamed to the station via the outside thermometer/hygrometer sensor which is somewhat difficult to take apart.  The inside station is just a box of lectronics (having had to have a look) and means sweet f a to me.

Guess I (and more importantly, Mrs B) will have to get used to subtracting one hour from the clock.  We have to fiddle with the tide times and we do have a real clock to tell the time by, guess I get too fixated.

 troll

what does this one mean, new to me, come on, who is responsible?
