Hi everyone,

I would like to offer for free my pilot edition of HomeBrewPower. I had planned on releasing it last year 2008 but it got postponed until 2010.

Best way to get a copy (In PDF Format) is to visit www.homebrewpower.co.uk  and drop down the homepage to 'Comments & Subscriptions' on either side of the page and click 'Click here to subscribe' It's free and I will send you the best links from the website every couple of days. When you sign up just ask for a copy of the HBP Magazine in the comments box. Sign up is only an email address!

The HomeBrewPower website is updated daily and is full of interesting renewable energy projects, knowledge files and news.

I spent a while trawling it yesterday - can I suggest splitting it up into sub sections a bit more clearly?

I think this thread is taking the mickey bigtime - it's blatant spam for another website, I'd suggest a good read is had of the rules before there is any more blatant driving of carts and horses through them! police

http://www.navitron.org.uk/forum/index.php/topic,291.0.html

most particularly -

"advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum. This forum is owned and funded by Navitron Ltd. Please respect this. Navitron wishes to promote discussion on all aspects of renewable energy and energy efficiency, but please remember that this forum is essentially provided by a manufacturer/supplier of renewable energy equipment. Discussion of equipment provided by other suppliers is quite acceptable, and we are happy for our competitors to participate in our forum, but please note that attempts to raise business or to promote a competing product on the Navitron forum is not acceptable and such posts will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be excluded from the forum"

Well, I thought it was pretty specific -
"but please note that attempts to raise business or to promote a competing product on the Navitron forum is not acceptable and such posts will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be excluded from the forum"

My view is that he has clearly breached both the letter and spirit of our "no spam" rules, and has been blatantly plugging his own website over the last few days, which when I visited it was fairly heftily saturated with moneymaking links to other companies and products......... So I took the decision to make it known publicly that "we'd noticed", and made a fairly polite request that he desist from further spam - I could have had "quiet words" behind the scenes - this way there's no argument about what's taken place and why - it also does no harm to others contemplating a bit of spamming to see that we don't put up with it! I agree with you Martin.
He might be a very nice man, as they say, and obviously has a keen interest in what he is posting, but most of his posts keep referring to his own website, so as his user name and signature do.  spam! if it looks like it, smells like it it probably is.
No offence given, just my honest opinion.

Hi there,

Interesting to read the comments on my post!

Well Martin, as someone who installs your systems and buys directly from you I have to say that your remarks are pretty off side. You are flaming my business and I don't take to that very kindly.

I have just completed a case study for your website, free of charge and am awaiting it publishing? I actively encourage my readers to contact Ivan regarding purchases on a daily basis, I also make sure I speak highly of your business and make sure people visit your website.

Also Ivan is going to be selling my Babington Nurner Nozzles via your website so I find it hard to believe that you are speaking to others about me in this way?

My website is both my passion and my business so I always like feedback on what's good and what's not so if you have any then feel free to contact me via email.

The advertisements are there to subsidise the expense of running my website which is 100% free. They generate a small fraction of what I pay out for giving the public free information.

I would like to hear from you (Martin) via email or phone (Ivan has my mobile number) If there is anything you are not happy with then please let me know so I can change / add / delete as you desire but please, not via a public forum and certainly not before you have had the courtesy to see who I am  / what I do and weather my intentions are for the best or not.

Martin is independent of Navitron & frequently has to make this point.

If you have some special privilege in respect of your connection to Navitron, then I can only assume that Martin is unaware of it.

At the moment your comments are of no help to yourself or Navitron.

My independent observation would be that you may wish to reword, &/or delete some of the above & take this discusion to a Personal Message.

Don't think its Martins website or Martins forums!

I don't think he's 'Navitron' but someone helps with the admin and moderating of the forum.

The forum keeps clean of spam and offensive rubbish largely thanks to Martins efforts. He leaves a lot of comments in the open, such as this thread so members can form their own opinion and that seems a pretty good approach.

Frankly I'd take the comments on the chin, take part in the forum and I expect all will be well.

It seems there are many members like your self who sell/recommend navitron products, and they too give freely plenty of advice without falling foul of the rules.

Edit: Sorry cross posted with Steve H !

I've said what I meant, and meant what I said - just to clarify - I am not a Navitron employeee, and am totally independent - and try to treat everyone as equally as possible - as I had not received any requests to allow the "plugging" of your website on the forum, or information that you'd sought consent to do so, I gave you a friendly public warning for what I considered some over-the-top and cheeky spamming - I'd guessed that you were probably doing so out of keenness to publicise your site and business rather than from any evil intent, so left it at that.

Moderators are in the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" position - I prefer to "keep it in the open". I also think you should have asked first before plugging your site or products - I've never spammed my own website - there's a subtle link, and that's it!...........

Good to hear all your comments.

I wish you all well and hope you all accept me within this community.

Not going to get into the who is right and who is wrong, I have my own opinions on what my intentions are and that is all that counts.

Thankyou - genuinely no hard feelings from me whatsoever, you're most welcome here - unfortunately, if it looks like spam, it gets nuked - we get so much of it we tend to shoot from the hip and ask questions later Wink
