Author Topic: How long does it take to get paid?  (Read 1342 times)

My npower export/ROCs were read around the beginning of September. I'm just wondering how long should I wait for payment, or is it credited against my account? I've seen no paperwork to support that, yet.

with ebico you have to give them the meter reading every 1/4 the payments are then credited to your bill.

I assume your Ebico readings are really going to SSE? I've never had anything to do with Ebico directly since first signing up (just for normal import). All subsequent dealings, including getting on the export contract, have been with SSE directly.

I've never had anything so formal as "export reading every quarter", though I'm sure if I bothered to give them readings, then they'd credit me for them. I've only actually bothered when they explicitly asked for a reading, which I think either coincided with end of ROC year, or price change - so only two readings done in getting on for 18 months. They were credited to my account quickly enough through.

Has anyone on the EBICO or SSE microgen pack had their old meter changed to a new smart meter as per their literature claims?

I joined the scheme with SSE about 6 to 8 weeks ago and, following an enquiry as to the meter ident no, have heard nothing more?

There's nothing particularly 'Smart' about the export meter they added for me - but it was back in mid-2008. I can't face trying to find the literature on the web site right now, but I guess it says you'll get something beyone just an export meter then? All I got was yet another standard meter, wired in series (backwards) with the existing import meter, which itself was new not long before (in order to give me Economy 7). I'm not sure how responsibility for metering is allocated - always assumed that installing them was the responsibility of the network operator (EDF round here), but I guess one's supplier (e.g. SSE/Ebico for me) has some influence on what gets installed.

i take it by smart meter, you mean that the meter has a button that you repeatly press to display info such as kwh, voltage, current etc?

Smart meter was the term SSE used in their letter, I presumed it was an import / export meter which allowed the supplier to determine the net electricity imported / exported for billing and also allowed them to check the ROCs for their purposes (I'm on the 28p exported no ROCs scheme)

I was wondering how long they took to install the replacement meter from signing the contract.

I expect they'll get something done before April when they have to submit their claims for ROCs to OFGEM.

CeeBee,

Does the E7 meter make any difference to your export payments? It's really academic for PV exporters, but I wondered whether wind customers would be penalised if they were on E7.

Incidentally, is there any extra standing charge for E7, and did they charge you for fitting the E7meter?
