All I was rather hoping that Billi who was such a champion of implementation on this forum and lives in Kerry (Where I spent nearly all my childhood summers) or Ted who is the closest thing we have to a forum Guru would have won this but given that I have been voted Forum member of the year for 2009 it is incumbent upon me to say a few words. (Assuming 2010 votes don't count!)
This has come as a surprise. There are many more worthy persons on the forum. I have tremendous admiration and respect for all the moderators: Wyleu who has had a great hand in all my karma points, special mention to KenB who welcomed me so warmly when I arrived, PaulH who encouraged me to have a StBC PV weekend, Martin who spent so much time setting up the forum, Eleanor who is really too nice to be a moderator but has been gracious to reply to my posts none the less.
The voting has been interesting. I have interacted with most on the “ballot paper” and two of whom I have had the greatest respect Kristen and SleepB have had far fewer votes than deserved ( I will not moan about non returned dongles and widgets!). Chicken and Rhys also deserve special mention as does Stuart who was such a help at the extended StBC PV weekend.
Given that there are 3468+ members the turn out is only 2% - however almost 50% of people who did vote gave one to me. I suspect that the work on the Greening of StBC is what earned my popularity- though the one-wire work may in the long term turn out to be the most important.
The road towards the Greening of St. Barnabas Chapel of Ease has taken nearly a decade. Most of the physical effort has been in unglamorous insulation (shame that superfoils don't work as well as they are supposed to). Most of the emotional effort has gone into lighting with continual lighting wars with MrsB. The work involved in the GSHP and associated underfloor heating was also substantial. In comparison this year's efforts – in particular the StBC PV system have been fairly straightforward though at times it did not seem so. So far the system has produced 622kWh so am very pleased.
The new year hopefully will bring the few acres of land and a wind site - hopefully some developments there and some pictures in 2010 though now maybe 2011 before the turbine finally goes up if the site proves viable.
One of the most important things I have been involved in Forumwise is the thread with One-Wire slaves. EricW in particular is one of the unsung heros here and doing great work. We are still looking for volunteers here so free slaves are still available – just send me a PM or post on the thread.
The forum would not be the same without the Bodgers of whom Frotter is undoubtably the King but I expect great things from the new pretenders to the throne Noel and Stuart in 2010. I also particularly like OuttaSight's PV set up.
I would also thank Ivan for hosting the Forum and allowing such a wide variety of discussion. Finally again thanks to all whom I have not mentioned. A happy and ecofriendly new year to all.

Congrats to both Sean and Billi.
Cork and Kerry happens to be one of my favourite places in the world - the view across to the MacGillicuddy's Reeks from the top of the pass coming up the N71 (can't remember the name of the place - it's on the Cork-Kerry border) is breath-taking.

Thanks everyone.
Curiously the poll is still open so maybe we have jumped the gun a bit? It has been a bit of an anticlimax. Was not expecting a KBE but a PM from Ivan would at least have been nice. Anyway if the poll stays open Frotter who still seems to be making a dash for the line may still do a bit of overtaking. Was expecting Ivan to close the poll at midnight 31st Dec/1st Jan. Navigate, hanging chads etc? Maybe a bit of fun to be had here yet?

oops forgot to lock it. Foolishly, I didn't think you'd all continue voting into the new year. Locked now, and Frotter gets a few points penalty, thus avoiding my having to back-track and change any posts.
Congrats Sean. Sorry, no PM. A well-deserved win, and lots of worthy runners-up, too!

Well it’s official then. Billi for some reason I thought you were on the Kerry side of the border. I understand it is also very cold in W. Cork/Kerry. The last time we had a really cold snap at this time of the year it was c -5 degrees in theNE of England at Christmas. By new year which we spent in Schull (W Cork) it was about 13 degrees at midnight for the new year so quite a contrast. Ted didn’t realise you were half Irish. Curiously MrsB is half Polish. Frotter –some Irish or Scottish blood in your blood I think? Sleepy , we Irish look on the Scots as long lost cousins maybe time to mount another invasion? Or maybe we should club together and show the Sasanach a thing or two?, Thanks for all your kind regards and tear felt congratulation!
