DCLG are not happy with the current situation with Competent Person Schemes.  They plan a wholesale revision which includes such changes as:

- schemes must show how they will continually attract new members
- mandatory training for members whenever Building Regs change

Consultation on the proposals runs until 19th March.

Annex B of the consultation document is a very useful summary of all the requirements for Self Certification under the Building Regulations.  (Since when did someone need to be a member of a CPS in order to install a sink or WC?)
