Freepower, what are your roof orientations, as prices fall, is it worth you considering 'both' (all) roofs?

Just had a 4kw system fitted. NW England. Sunny Boy 4000TL with 16x Sharp 250w panels and a Sunny Beam display for £9400. Previous quote from same supplier in June 2011 was over £14000, couldn't get the money together in time for 12 Dec, so may have lucked-in if the higher rate FIT applies still. Fingers crossed!

As osbo above i couldn't afford it last year so im hoping I've scraped into the 43.3 group...

My system consists of 21 "Antaris M190" panels producing 3.99Kw. We went for these for their looks cause they are all black so hopefully less noticeable on a bungalow.

The inverter is an "Aurora PVI-3.6-OUTD-UK". The house faces exactly south (G68 9NP, Cumbernauld, 10 miles east of Glasgow) with no shading.

Total cost was £10k from a reputable company who have done a lot of work all over Scotland inc housing association contracts. Dates, times, promises, paperwork, MCS certificate etc have all been good so far

I was trying to locate Tesco's prices which are a useful benchmark but can't find them. I see to recall under £8K for about 4kWp. I also noted Solar Essence are advertising a 4kWp system for £6.5K inclusive ( see http://tinyurl.com/d67asl5 ). They have a "calculator" for various system sizes depending on roof size.

I have NO connection with either company other than a bit of shopping at Tesco! I am sure there will be plenty of companies offering similar prices.

My own system cost me £4.2/kWp  over 2 years ago while I believe the price is nearer £2/kWp these days. At least I am getting the 43+p per kWh rather than the 21p for new entrants.

Note also new insulation requirements. I notice some people are including this in their prices.

Good luck,
