A mate of mine has already phoned me saying that he is interested in PV for his roof in the light of an article on R4 yesterday highlighting the FITs announcement, so who knows it may kickstart the widespread take up, on the other hand it is the same old story of the poor subsidising the rich. stir stir

Watch Heat Pump sales go through the roof when RHIs come in!!

For most of the year get a COP of 3.

Buy one unit of electricity at say 10p. Get paid for three units RHI at say 9p each =27p therefore 17p profit for every unit your heat pump uses plus all the heat for free!!
(quick open the windows and turn the heating up full blast  laugh)

Get a cop of 5 and .......

Even get a cop of 1.5 and .....

Not sure how they measure the output units though so may not work out quite so well in practice!

you're right, people always find a way to cheat these incentives, but I think it says in the consultation document that they won't pay for more than the house is deemed to demand.  How they work this out?  I know not.

But, if you've got the money and you are putting up a structure anyway you would be a fool not to saturate it with these technologies.
All installed by MCS installers of course   Grin

You won't be a popular man on here if you keep going on about MCS accredited installers!

Hello,

we're holding a free consultation event about the RHI at the Centre for Alternative Technology on March 10, with a senior official from DECC attending to answer your questions and hear your comments.
See my other forum post http://www.navitron.org.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10012.0.html for more details.
