What's the best way to mount extra sensors on the cylinder?

i was thinking of drilling out some of the insulation and epoxying the sensor to a bit of aluminium and then fixing on the end of some dowelling which is then slid in the aforementioned hole and then taped down

I wish i'd ordered more sensors pockets!!
