The attached spreadsheet is designed to help answer the frequently asked questions  "What size pipe should I use for my solar panel system" or "is this a suitable pump"
It is aimed at typical small (1-3 panel) systems

By simply entering estimates of the pipe lengths and type of pump it will generate an estimate of the flowrate for a system.

A few common pumps have been included
The Pegler TC5 is typical of standard 3 speed central heating pumps
The Alpha + one represents the new generation of low power pumps. While its lowest power setting is good, interestingly the automatic mode of this pump doesn't give any benefit in typical solar installation setups.
The other pumps are low voltage ones for people wishing to deviate from the mainstream and explore other options.

By using the user defined type data it is possible to add and use data for any pump for which a manufacturer publishes a PV curve.
