Title: Solar ready houses in Canada
Post by: djh on July 14, 2011, 11:27:27 PM
British Columbia has a scheme whereby new houses have to be built 'ready' for solar thermal to be fitted. Each town has to sign up for the legislation individually.

official press release: phttp://www.newsroom.gov.bc.ca/2011/06/greening-the-building-code-communities-adopt-solar-power.html
and a blog: http://www.pembina.org/blog/553

Be nice if we had something equivalent here!

Our local council (Kingston upon Thames)requires new builds to have solar water heating installed if you are to get planning permission if they have a suitable roof. A bit ahead of our Canadian friends!
