Ok so who knows about shunts?


I have a sterling power management panel. It came with a single 200amp shunt.

I added a few cheap 200 amp 100mv ones (that have always under read by 50%).

The original 200amp one soon gave up due to over heating. Not from the inverter usage but from the charger that was on for hours.

They do replacements at 50 for the 200 amp or 120 for the 400amp one. Now obviously that is far to much.

They say they are 100mv shunts. However they cant both be 100mv or the reading would be out. The 200 amp original one read true.

So is there an easy way to determine the actual needed mv drop for a given peak amperage?

I'm guessing that I need a 400amp 200mv shunt.
