Title: Zero power sewage treatment plant for new build
Post by: readiescards on November 24, 2015, 09:48:33 PM
I'm looking for a zero power consumption (and ideally zero maintenance) sewage treatment plant - since I want to keep my 24/7 power consumption to a minimum in case I go the off-grid way.

I'm luckily that the site has a 5m fall to a water course/field dyke.  As it is a new build BC inspector needs to have tested and approved system - I can't just build my own solution.

So far I've come across only two options:

* Worm vermifilteration http://www.wastewaterwizard.co.uk  3995 includes delivery and internal fit out & commissioning of the unit. Though little detail available
* FilterPod with settlement tank http://www.wte-ltd.co.uk/settlement_tanks_podtanks.html  2900 + vat includes delivery only. Fully certified no soakaway need

Are there any other zero power sewage treatment plants that are to be recommended please?

In which case, I wouldn't pish about (pardon the pun) trying to guess what Building Control will approve for your particular situation... it might save you some time / money / grief in the long run to get an expert on board. Try http://www.hutchinson.co.uk/ (http://www.hutchinson.co.uk/)... no connection, just a good experience.
