Title: Thermomax Solar Tubes lifespan / servicing
Post by: jonsamcor on April 16, 2019, 04:45:51 PM
Hi I am a noob, from Northern Ireland....with little knowledge.....

I have a double set of Thermomax (Masdon?) vacuum tubes for hot water on my home
Lately I have the feeling they are not working

What would be their typical lifespan and can they be serviced ?

Thanks

Jonny

The tubes will last forever if you dont break them. Its the pump and glycol pressurised system that messes up.

Tubes look sound....
They feed into my main hot water cylinder which (should) give me hw from gshp.... but have been having issues with it....my theory is when it goes down....anything produced by the tubes gets sucked into the underfloor ??
Which means no hot water....Im ok with a flannel and kettle for a wash 🧼 its the 4 girls I live with who take exception....😐
