Oh No, there's already enough electric scooters and Lime bikes on our Redways.  surrender:

Actually that's exactly what the Redways are for, although some of the souped-up machines are clearly doing more than 15mph.

Lime say that they have to be parked up responsibly but that doesn't stop the next hooligan coming along and knocking them over across the paths and the Lime bikes are often to be found in the middle of nowhere when the battery dies.

At least the Santander bikes are always tucked away in their docking stations.

For those not au fait with "redways"

No idea why the rest of the country doesn't adopt the same name for this sort of path.

As a semi frequent visitor to MK I love the redways, space, giving both freedom of movement & space away from ICE & more quiet space for wildlife to utilise.

Barrie: how are the  :police: treating "other" scooter users on these paths in the past 12 months prior to the "pay to be legal" scheme.

Any decent scooter sales shops in mk "complying" by allowing you to buy a decent scooter (xiaomi) & a cursory "rental" sum yet?

1 unlocking  + 0.20 for every minute in use (took me some minutes to get signal to allow both camera picture proof of parking & lock up signal through) abroad.

Having my own bicycle and using the Santander bikes for one way runs home if I got caught out in bad weather in the shopping centre I've never needed to investigate either the Lime bikes or the purchase of a scooter.

Walking to the station every day before lockdown I did get passed by quite a few electric scooters and bikes, they are definitely becoming more popular. Generally the redway system is not abused but occasionally quad bikes or monkey bikes will make use of them, but not very often.

The biggest issue is that the redways are not given priority where they cross estate access roads or minor roads within the estate, the speed merchants with road bikes don't like the constant stop start so they stick to the roads, as do the odd scooters.

A number of the local bike dealers are selling electric bikes but no mention of scooters.
