Hi Chaps,

A question.

I have a self install installation that has been certified ok for FITs via the ROO-FIT mechanism. I would like to modify the installation to improve its efficiency (but without increasing overall capacity). Basically, I want to split one string of Solar panels into two parallel strings. No extra panels, just a couple of extra cables and a junction box.

I assume I may need this to be Part-P inspected again, and I assume I need to inform my Energy provider about the change but is this going to invalidate the installation as it would not be done using 'MCS' ?

Any advice ?

Clive

Now were in a minefield with this question.

My advice, leave well alone or contact your local MCS installer.

Of course you could alter it yourself  whistlie

I'd do it / have it done and keep quiet about it....

might be breaking the "official" rules etc. etc.

but not the moral rules... you're being paid for helping the environment....  and if you're going to produce more power, you'll save more CO2 etc. etc. etc.
